Peer Review Reflection

After finally completing my rebuttal I took some time to analyze the peer review we did.  Overall, I thought that it was very helpful.  Being able to sit down with both you and my group members gave me the chance to get multiple perspectives on my paper.  I did receive some good feedback and was able to make several adjustments to my paper.  Not just grammar and style, but also the conceptual parts.  In the beginning I made my thesis clearer.  I also really didn’t have a rebuttal part in my introduction which was very crucial for me to ad in. In the body of my rough draft, I just had a lot of good points but none of which related to the original argument.  I related most of my points to the original article and I counter argued what the authors published.  In my rough draft I wasn’t sure how to cite the information I received online. So I put citations where needed and changed my information that I found into direct quotes, or I paraphrased them.  When I was reviewing others work it became clear to me about what actually needed to be reviewed.  Instead of focusing on all the grammar and style mistakes I directed my attention towards the conceptual stuff. Seeing the same problems made by my peers on different subjects made it easier to see what actually needed to be changed.  I noticed that every paper needs to have a clear thesis and rebuttal.  Also several different points need to be made to make your point strong.  Building a strong ethos and supporting you information is crucial.
